Women's TAP Fund Statement on Senator Clinton's Illness at Event
PRESS RELEASE
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was addressing a crowd of about 150 supporters of the Women's TAP Fund at the Saturn Club today when she became ill and had to end her speech early. The audience cleared the room quickly in an orderly fashion to give Senator Clinton privacy as she was assisted by her staff, Secret Service, and a physician who was attending the event.
"We deeply admire Senator Clinton and appreciated her willingness to speak to our supporters, despite being quite under the weather." said TAP Fund President Jane Griffin. "Our only concern is for the Senator's well being. She has the best wishes of everyone associated with our organization."
Griffin went on to say that Senator Clinton told the audience at the beginning of her remarks that she had been suffering from the flu and wasn't feeling well.
The Women's TAP Fund is a nonpartisan political action committee that supports local pro-choice women candidates. Senator Clinton was speaking at a fundraiser for the group.
